Girls Love Mail

Mail GinaMeet Gina L. Mulligan, author and founder of Girls Love Mail – an inspirational card-writing organization focused on the heart-healing of women diagnosed with breast cancer.

At age 40, Gina’s own shocking news of breast cancer and being on the receiving end of comfort opened a window for her.

“Being told I had cancer was a shock. But it wasn’t the day of my diagnosis that changed my life. The true change came a few weeks later when I started receiving well wishes. The letters said I was already a hero.”

Girls Love Mail gives the gift of hand-written letters to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. All it takes is a little of your time to encourage a woman in need. After all anyone can write a letter. You don’t have to be a breast cancer survivor to join.

It’s this simple:

  1. Write a letter(s) and mail it to Girls Love Mail. All cards must fit in the Girls Love Mail envelope measuring 4.75″ x 6.5″
  2. GLM puts each letter into the special Girls Love Mail envelope.
  3. Bundles of envelopes are given to cancer centers, where medical staff distribute letters to newly diagnosed patients.

“Starting Girls Love Mail was one of those AHA moments. Anyone with a a desire to encourage a woman can write a letter,” Gina writes. “Letter writers of all ages and locations across the country are joining us. I hope you will too! All it takes is a little of your time and the cost of a stamp. I know what receiving letters meant to me. I encourage you to give it a try and see how much writing one will mean to you.”

It is our turn at CCH to write some cards and get them sent off to GLM. Knowing that such simple expressions may encourage a stranger when she needs it most is an exciting journey for us. We hope you will join in.
